Cup 3 wheels - which offset will be best? 28, 48?

I am in Sydney and working out how to fit my 993 Turbo twists to a similar setup to yours. 61 beetle (cabrio) with CB spindles on a BJ IRS pan.

My wheels are 17x7 ET50 at the front and 17x8 ET55 for the rear. I will need to use spacers of about 10mm on the front. Not sure if I'll get the 8.5' wheels on the rear under the stock guards but I think that you can get 7' with and offset of ET40 on there with no spacers by just reversing one of the spring plate bolts.
