Hey,

Dont give up ! The 944 brake conversion to a BJ/IRS beetle is easy .. rears just bolt on and you can adapt the ebrake easily by modifying a small 944 stock piece with a welder and a dremel .. you can use the stock bug ebrake cables.

Fronts, you need to get a machine shop to make up some bearing spacers. I think this is the best method as you are using stock Porsche peices with no mods, as opposed to some other methods where you have to machine the hub. Check out my tech article on the main site for the info.

The rear width is increased by 22mm per side and the front is increased by about 12mm per side (with stock beetle spindles)

To be safe, you could use a 16x6 front wheel with a 52mm offset under stock front fenders and the same in the rear, under stock fenders.

Hope this helps but I can't answer any questions about the CB kit ... no experience !

Sandeep
