Some people could break a pry-bar in a sand box. My friend cracked his 12" rotors in his car doing a 140 mph to zero. The stock porsche brakes mostly used are 944 parts and they were designed for a car that weighs 2,600 lbs. or more. So a 1,800 lbs. beetle really doesn't put that much stress on the brakes.
