What type of brakes

Was wondering what type of brakes you guys suggest. I have some crappy Jamar brakes now on my 63 street bug and they SUCK!!!. Was looking at the CB Performance wide 5 setup. What do all think?

I'm running 944 brakes, I like them alot.

If I were building a race car (other than drag racing that is) I'd run 944 turbo brakes.

I believe the wide5 brakes have solid discs, bot very good for performance braking, for daily driving (not aggresive) they'd be fine.

I went through a local wrecker, that was a big mistake, took my money and only gave me a few of the parts, had to pay for the rest, when they came in they were wrong, had to pay again to get the right ones. never bought there again.

best place to locate and purchase 944 brakes would be Pelicanparts forums
they have a classifieds section, everyone I've dealt with there was really good

the wide 5's are really going to limit your rim selection. unless you are set on which rims you are going to run already.

944 NA or Turbos are great. you are only going to be able to run Porsche rims there, but at least there is a devent selection.

you could always have a machinist crve you a new set out of extruded aluminum, then they could be drilled to whatever pattern you want.
