Wep, but they do collect broken valves very well. There is no room for error in this engine, if you are off just a little, it gets ugly.

ouch. i hate that for you dude. things like that come at the crappest of times. i'll let you know if i come up with any other sources for a replacement today.

Well a new head is about $1,400, new pistons ? Are the rods bent? Is the crank bent? New timing belt kit $180. Then there is the machine work.
I found an egine (complete) with 15,000 miles on it from a 2002 for $2500.

Man, that hurts to look at!

Barring a look inside the crankcase, I'd just replace the whole works. You can't fix what you got easily for less than 25 Benjamins.
