I am also very interested by VDUB CUSTOMS stuff. I just swapped steering knuckles and put 11.5" vented/slotted rotor and Wilwood calipers and SS lines on my friend's MKIV Golf and would like to use his old calipers/rotors on my BJ front end with stock VW spindles. We've got the old brake lines, steering knuckles, calipers, and rotors from his Golf.
I'm a bit confused if their stuff only can be used with 1.8T stuff or if the stuff I've got access to is fine (8-valve MKIV). |

We've been developing manily the 1.8T brakes because they are the biggest that VW currently offers on the MK4. Other kits can be developed depending on consumer interest. I've got a 2L Mk4 kit in the works, which utilizes a slightly smaller disk and caliper when compared to the 1.8T.

So if I snag the calipers and the rotors from my buddy can I expect for there to be the rest of the components needed to finish the conversion available within the next couple months or less? I don't mean to put you in a corner on a price (I know that stuff goes with the wind), but do you have an estimate on what the parts I'd need to buy from you would run?
Thanks, Chris |

I'm a little uncertain as to whether I can talk business in the forums. But here I go...
For the 2L brakes, you'd need two main components to finish the install: -hubs to mount the 2L disk to the spindle. -caliper mounts between spindle and 2L caliper. The above would run approx $C375/set. That price is using remanufactured hubs (cut from oem drums). If you want new billet hubs there would be at an additional $C450 premium. I can go either 4-100mm or 5-100mm bolt pattern. You would need: -2L disks -2L calipers with slides. Easy, Lanner |
