Also, the original Porsche spacers are hub-centered as well, but you have a good point. I do think that leaving the hub-centering with porsche wheels will give balance problems. I believe that I may have experienced this...

CB's roto-hubs are not hub-centric and work well. It is, however more likely to not spin true to the hub than Porsche hubs, and Porsche spacers.
Non hub-centric mounting is good enough for the street, but I wouldn't be doing nasty burnouts or going autocrossing with them. I also wouldn't put 250 ft.lbs. of torque to them either.
