CB and Varga

I was hoping some can comfirm that the CB calipers are indeed Varga calipers and that they are the same as those on

93-02
Ford Taurus
Mercury Sable
Lincoln Continnetal

----------------------------------------------

Also if anyone has the CB kit:

How thick are the rotors?
And are the calipers stock metric bubble flares?

It seems weird that that CB or the cars above would use the same brake line flaring on the calipers unless CB made an adaptor for us, vw guys.

thanks

Rip,

The rear calipers (w/ p-brake) on my CB Rotohub setup is a Varga caliper and it does use an adapter for the brake line. I heard they were from a mid-'90s Taurus/Sable too, but haven't confirmed. There are the following stamping on the caliper if it helps in your search. They are 017H, C34, VFCC 2353-1. Not sure if any of them are the model number...

thanks a lot, yea looking around they are really similar to both, funny thing is in the book it says they are off a MK3 golf, but looking on line at pictures they look closer to the taurus calipers.

The golfs have a stamped piece that holds the e cable (at the sheath end, not the cable/wire end), while the taurus is cast into the caliper like in the varga picture.

thanks again

Unless CBP changed them in recent rears. My Rotohub setup is ~5 years old...
