When I got my G50 the guy pulled the diff to send it in 2pcs (to stay under max weight requirements) and I saw when I put it back together that the ring couldn't be flipped. Do you guys remember where you saw any more info about running the whole trans upside down? I put a rear clip on the car already, and it would be nice to have the weight distribution of a mid engined car.........

rather than run the box upside down, i would sell it and get a boxster trans since its already mid-engine

hp limits? no idea...stock from the factory is a little less than 300...guess it depends on how extreme of a mid-engine you want to go.

Been there and Done IT - Boxster Tranny
Greetings:
Just thought I needed to chime in here and provide some imput and encouragement for anyone willing to think outside the box and attempt something different. I DID, and am now driving my VW/Porsche 914 with a Boxster tranny and shifter (powered by a 1995 Chevy V-8 engine 350 Cu.in., 350 HP) Photos and info provided on link. It was the restoration of my 1972 Super Beelte that got me started on this pathway, and soon a Porsche 914 finds it's way into my hands. So if interested check out my link: http://www.914club.com/bbs2/index.ph...52&hl=boxster& Any thoughts or questions will be considered and replied within a few days. Thanks Allan
