IF you are on a budget and you are sticking to a stock type 4 from a bus, you can do a "Joe Cali" coversion with a type 1 fan shroud (get the Joe Cali book from Jake at www.type4store.com .you can shorten a set of 411/412 heater boxes and use a bus (type 4) header/muffler or Jake's "econo" exhaust. You will however need a coversion flywheel/pressure plate.

I was going to suggest the "Joe Cali" conversion, but for most, its too much fabrication. Cutting and welding sheet metal can be a PITA sometimes unless you have a good welder and lots of time and patience. However, as NO_H2O said, it is cheaper than DTM kit, just not as easy.

Equipment & time is something I have a lot of but, my funding is something I have to watch. Thanks for the info. What is a good flywheel/clutch for this swap?
