aircooled VW Gumball race 2006

Was held at 1st of April (last weekend).
It was a time contest on public roads, starting in the Netherlands at the last petrol station, just 100 yards from the german Autobahn border

The goal was to arrive as quickly as possible at the bug-shop www.beetlefactory.com which is about 135 km into germany.
As none of us were ever been there, it was alsio a sort of contest who was best in navigating/ reeding the roadmap best.

Starting time was the time slip from the store at the petrol station subtracted by the time from the receipt at the beetlefactory shop.
Winner was a 1303 with 2 liter type 4 with K-jetronic in just over 1 hour Congrats Nigel!
Considering the road works and subsequent speed restrictions underway (and some general 120km/h limits) and the time spend in finding the shop in city of Wuppertal, that is very fast!

The first Gumball Race was a success Big thumbs up to Maurice for organizing the event and to the guys at the Beetle Factory for looking after us and Rob for making such cool trophy's .
