Alum arms, with type I urethane bushings, which spring plate cover
I was going to originally go with the 944 covers, and beetle inner bushing. Decided last night in an impulse buy to get urethane bushings for this setup, can I use the beetle or do I need 911 spring plate cover if I change the outer to type I.
Thanks Loaf

I have the alu arms with urethane bushings on both sides (inner and outher). I used the beetle coverplates. The only thing I changed is that I used some spacers between the coverplate and the chassis. I did this because I used the porsche 944 turbo springplates, those are made up of 2 plates instead of one on the original vw springplates. Maybe I am to carefull but I didn't want to overtighten my bushings. I am not shure if you can use the porsche coverplates with the urethane bushings. I still got a pair of them so maybe I'll try it one day. Untill then I can't give you an answer.
Friendly regards, Tom |

LOAF, I have a pair of 944 bushings, and a set of bug bushings. They have the same dimensions if this helps.

TDC,
Thanks... I posted a little late, after a long day working on the bug and a few beers... After I read your reply I felt like an idiot...I think I was alittle confused and not thinking... got mixed up. One thing you can help me with, is the clearancing that is required... Parts should arrive tomorrow, and I need to remove the outer bushing and also order some fresh beetle S.P. covers.. Thanks for the help and can you further explain you bushing idea. Alex
