Engine is now in place and hooked up!

But a dead battery and impending rain forced a cancelation of the road test.

... More tomorrow

Finally driven!

... The bad first. I still have the small oil leak out of the flywheel. This I originally attributed to crankcase pressure and the lack of a breather box... Wrongish. as it cannot hurt to run a breather, but still needs a new flywheel seal. The first red flywheel seal to give me any through at all... Unless it is something else which would be very disturbing.

... The clutch disk is slipping again. Long story here. But my fault totally.

At first the A/F ratio was 16:1 which really sucked. So a little tweaking and I fattened her up... Need to check the actual A/F ratio later.

The good is that it revs up nicely! I hit 5K like it was nothing... But it should slow down after that anyway with only a E100 equivalent cam.

Even with the issues I am takig it camping tomorrow

Get a breather on that thing. You could put one of those custom "Bud Light" breathers like Joe had on his for the FL. dyno day to get you by.

Camping was awesome! It ended up being a 160 mile round trip. We ended up at Cacatin Mountain MD state park. Nice place.

The Bus did very well I think overall.

FWIW the breather is in place... I just reinstalled a "wet" clutch... Grrr

I still need to tweak the A/F mixture. As the heads could be cooler at speed. They heat up pretty good at 65MPH (corrected MPH) too much wind resistance.

Oil temps were like non existent! I bet 180 the whole time. Sender got busted, so I just have to use the hold the dipstick method... I could put my fingers on the dipstick and not remove them at all!

One of the wheel bearings is bitching. So that needs adressed. Other than that it is solid.

The sound deadening is incredible! Big big difference.

I am old... The stereo is too loud.

The front needs dropped ASAP

Sounds like a fun shake-down trip. You will get it dialed in. It took me a little while to get Joel's setup sorted out but I think it is good to go now. The last mod was to add a Mallory Hyfire 6A to go with the Unilite. I swapped out all the shock/damper with Bilstein shocks/damper on the front and KYB Gas Adjust on the rear (Bilstein doesn't make a bay rear shock anymore). Sway bar kit for front and rear are on the way. Drop spindles soon.
If you had hooked up all the Lambda stuff along with the 500k pot mod that I did, you could adjust the mix at hwy speed and lean it back out at low speed. It is way cool to have control over the mix and monitor it thru the A/F gauge and head temp gauge.
Is it still leaking oil?
