Kev
He had the edge over the Mini, there was only a small grid this time out but usually the grid is at least double what it was. Comparisons are hard to make as the cars at the front of the grid were far more powerful and in different classes to Stu. The next round will be better as there is a wider spread of cars and should be more in his class. I cant comment on Stu's car but to give you some idea of how the Beetle Cup car's were set up we used to run mine like this. Stu's is similar but the angles and cambers etc need sorting badly. Front end. Spax dampers, long travel ball joint's, bump steer kit, 2 sets of caster shims, different camber adjuster nuts, modified top arms, heavy duty roll bar. Rear end. Spax dampers, 27mm torsion bars, urethane bushes, solid mounted gear box and we made the droop adjustable. I also ran it on buffed tyres, Stu is currently using an intermediate race tyre in full soft compound. |

Lydden Hill (Sat 13th May)
Stuart Bayliss is back out this weekend. With any luck John Aitkenhead will be back out sporting a new paint job if he's had time to finnish the car.
