I checked that site out. He didn't replace a whole quarter. That car turned out looking really nice. I'm not sure if I'd ever start with a car like that and have it be anything above a split. Maybe, just maybe an oval.
What does your car look like? Pictures? Maybe you can get away with sections instead of putting the whole quarter on.

I know this is an old post, but I thought I could be of some help. I have "for fun" replaced both of my entire real quarters on my '73 beetle. If you're still interested, I can send along a bunch of pictures I took during the install.

Quarter replacement
just stumbled across this been doing them on my 72 i did them the same as the previous link its not to difficult got to be carefull when mearuring tho. hope this gives you some idea.
