Head upgrades are a good idea, but if your bottom end has lots of miles. Its better to go through the bottom end also. You could break something in the bottom end adding more power to an old (stock) motor.

The carb upgrade is a good upgrade (on DB motor). Both of these mods would work alot better if you changed the cam, or added ratio rockers (1.25 or 1.4). Don't forget about exhaust. If you force more air in you have to get it out too.

A better option IMO is to build another motor like you want, and save the one you have. In case you may need to put it back in if problems occur with new motor...
