Porsche brake conversion on T1
I am in the process of converting my T1 to Porsche Disk brakes. I am new convert to aircooled vws and have been overwhelmed by the amount of information out there on the brake conversions.
what is the more popular conversion? I would like something close to a drop replacement. I will be using CB performance 2" Narrowed Front Beam with drop spindles if this helps. Your help will be greatly appreciated. |

This is what I have planned:
This will be my daily driver, but want to have enough power to put one of those rice burners to shame ![]() I will have some cash to spend but at the same time I don't want to over do it. It will definitely will be a GermanLooker, could not see myself doing anything else. 2270 RAT for sure, but for now I am running a stock 1600 dual port. It's a 68 body but have a 74 chassis in the works, so I can upgrade to the later IRS. 17 inch porsche rims with 205x40 tires in front and 245x40 in the rear 1 inch wider fender in front and 2 inch wider fenders in the rear. |

The CB front and rear disc set-ups will work fine for your ride. (they will help save some money for the RAT motor
![]() As for "over doing it", there's no such thing in german look. (spending money on "overkill parts" anyway ![]()

Tell the thruth, a 4 wheel Porsche brake setup is very competitive financially to a CB 4 wheel disk setup. Performance is a different league. Hey, buy the best and cry once.

where would you get the 6 piton brembo kit from? would it be front and back?
