				brake bias...

finally got my fastback on the road and had a few shakedown runs. got a couple of issues, one is brakes. here's the tech bit :- front:- Audi coupe sliding calipers rear:- Golf Mk4 calipers m/c :- Porsche 944 brake bias valve on rear having driven the car a bit now, i think it needs MORE bias to the rear, fronts work well but easlily can be locked up. thinking of using 'residual brake pressure valve' on rears. any thoughts appreciated. THANKS! and nice to be back on the innovative forum! Angelo

Why not try removing the brake bias valve from the rear, they are pressure limiters at the end of the day...

				Bias calculator

Had a quiet spell in work so knocked up the infamous Bias Calculator in an excel spreadsheet, if you are like me, you can change the numbers to your hearts content and see what difference the various sizes make. enjoy ! Angelo http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/angeloamato/BIAS.xls

! If you want to retain the calipers in their relative position I would seriously think about a balance bar set up that will give you a much bigger range of potential bias. evilC |
