Why shorten the torsion arm, or do you mean the trailing arms? If you would like to shorten the trailing arm, there is a how to on this site

Hi, its here on this site. There is a member who posted how to mod your rear trailing arms. Be advised it is alot of work, I did a set before. You must jig them up for welding. You only save 1" per side and then you need to buy shorter axles. Go the easy route and buy wider fenders
