I had a Chevy corvair, and it came from the factory with the horizontal fan, just like the pictured setups. Throwing belts is NOT a problem, it doesn't happen with a quality belt.

sorry to intervene in this thread but i think there may have been some mix up. I am new to this site and am only just finding out how much usefull information is out there. Unfortunately i know damn all about Porsche's or their Engines
