Had a buddy that had a 66 w/18x9 porsche wheels all around-he raised trans to get rid of camber. raised the front of trans to the limit(before shift linkage bind) i think .75-1'' or something like that.
on rear mount, he raised it alot more than that, i think a couple of inches. motor and trans was uneven, but worked ok.

He had to fab cooling tin and make removable inner fender panels so he could adjust valves without pulling the engine! Also had to clearance rear floor for trans clearance. Make removable panels beefy, or the back end of the car will have serious booty shake probs over bumps.
