Of course I'm going to play devil's advocate and suggest it might be time to look at what a Sti motor is going for these day with REALLY big and REALLY reliable HP Or just do Type IV torque and leave the turbo out of it!

I'd go for type4 and forgo all the extra work. I love my 2.8 and am building another one as we speak for a guy in the UK. How about a turbo 2056 type four mill?

I dunno what your suggesting, but my turbo type 4 gives 270 VERY reliable hp and I use it on the track everywhere and drag race it as well (12,05 in my heavy 1303).
I don't think I spend more on the engine than a complete STi engine would have costed incl. an upgrade for the STi engine as they don't give that much hp in stock form

Your type of mill is what I am recomending. the Sti Engine is heavier, more fabrication needed. And th extra weight of the coolant is also an issue. I personally love air cooled power. But never a fan of the overstressed type 1. Thats why I recomended the type 4. I was going to turbo my 2.8 (left compression 8.0:1 just in case) but the power right now is acceptable. But still looking into it. That is if I can convince Marty Stagg From Staggs Racing to build me the manifold I want.

This is an old thread....

For those who are wondering. Carb'd 2275 is ready for install, and a 2332EFI turbo is on the stand.

Some more carnage pics of that aspirated 2332EFI:
