Of course I'm going to play devil's advocate and suggest it might be time to look at what a Sti motor is going for these day with REALLY big and REALLY reliable HP

I'd go for type4 and forgo all the extra work. I love my 2.8 and am building another one as we speak for a guy in the UK. How about a turbo 2056 type four mill?
