I got the NACA duct stuff from Butlerbuilt. I made a template from the original glass and cut them out of Lexan with a router. Made the stainless screens and secured everything with "T"bolt clamps from Summit.

				Inching forward

I am fighting my way forward on my 2.4L type 4 build. I had to spend more time than normal to fit many parts and spent more time than normal waiting for parts but it is moving forward. I had a few days off and fitted my DTM. I ended up having to mill near 1/8 inch off the bottom of the alternator stand to get the alternator to sit true and the fan/backing plate to sit properly in the opening. Now I need to get the linkage built. I have one set of center pull linkage but I have had problems with this brand in the past so I am going to try a different center pull rather than use a crossbar set up. Anyway here is what is in it. GA case DPR 82mm crank 96mm KB piston/Bored OE cylinders CB H beam rods Web 119/163 cam w/Jakes lifters Manton push rods Porsche 2L heads worked by Len Hoffman (all the tricks in his bag) Mallory Unilight dizzy w/6LA Hyfire and E-coil 45mm Dellorto DRLA's (for now) Kennedy Flywheel (12 lb.), Press plate and disc Home Built Exhaust (not shown) I built an engine run stand to break it in on.

Rest up Laz. I know my dizzy is in good hands. You needed to use it after what happened to yours. Glad I could find you another at the swap meet. I am waiting on a linkage set so sit on a bag of frozen peas, take a pain killer and rest up.

NO_h20 I am looking at your head cc information and i am seeing 59cc for one head and 56cc for the other is this correct, isn't this going to pose a problem for you when you try to tune it. By the way nice setup this engine should be nice. Saw on jake's site where he did a 2.4ltr also with a 84mm crank and some 5.9inch rods. The engine made 220HP. Are you using 5.5inch rods on your 82mm crank. |

the final camber volume was 54cc for all 4. The sharpie notes were left on along the way. I should have hit them with some brake part cleaner. My rods are 5.7 with chevy main journals.

O.k. great, your rod ratio is 1.76 : 1, good. How wide is the engine? I know for a stock type 1 engine the measurement from the crank center to connecting rod pin center is 211mm. I can't remember if the type 4 is 207mm or 209mm. So is your engine wider than a stock t4 engine. |
