A type 4 has much more cooling finnage to keep temps in check at high sustained power levels.
Because a German Look car is supposed to be running flat out in a high gear on the autobahn or road course, this becomes very important. When you build a hi-po type 1, it will be harder to keep head temps under control, if not impossible. T1 can make big power, but not for sustained running. Tha's why there's so many drag cars out there running T1... Remember, oil coolers don't cool heads, Fins do. |
