re-tourqueing cylinder heads?

hello.
well with about 1000 miles under the valve covers of my typ 4 engines i was thinking about putting myself thru the pain of pulling my carbs tin etc etc off and re tightening my heads ?

who does or doesnt do this ?

should i have done this long ago just after the cam got broke in ?

all feelings thoughts observations welcome.

did vw re-tourqe when new ? i dont think so .

we re-tourque the cylinder heads on the 4.2 ltr jaguar engines fitted to the vehicals i work on every 12 monthly service.

vw water-pumpers dont because they have streeech bolts .

typ 4 head bolts are static and things will settle or?

be good.
