He probably would have said "I will never boil rice!!" You wouldnīt have to go back that far.IIRC on one of his radio shows on iTunes about 3 years ago he was ranting about suby engines in a 914,etc. said that subaru makes a good station wagon but that engine destroys the character of the 914.Things change... He does excellent work and he will continue his philosophy and enthusiasm with the suby.A friend of mine has an EJ22 turbocharged in his bug pushing well on the north side of 400hp mated to a beefed 915 Porsche trans and chases bikes on the Autobahn at 280Km/h = 175mph! Yes...175mph!
I canīt blame him for going suby,itīs a huge market and the engine, at least the EJ20 and EJ22, are very well made and there is no parts shortage.
