Ok, I am having to help a guy put a 1970 engine into a 1973 beetle. I hear there is some problems with the throw out bearings and compatabilities. This info is VERY crucial and important to me. Also if there is a problem, what is the easiest and best way to fix it? Is there anything else I should be aware of? And how long should I expect this engine instalation to take?

I think they are different.
You will need to put an early model pressure plate on the '73 engine to put it in a '70. Also get a new throw out bearing and clutch disc while you are in there. Easy once you see it.

The 70 engine now has the late model setup. How hard is it to center it and getting the clutch arm on the tranny hooked back up and how much time should I expect. ALso how do I do it. Extreme newbie questions I know, just bear with me here.
