Where to get a high performecne Type 4

Where can I find someone who will build me a high powered type 4? the previous builder, I prefer no t to say his name, gave up on the build, and need someone who can build me, or supply the parts for a high performance type 4.

Aircooled.net, Fat Performance and European Motors jump right to mind. I say build it yourself (but I am a DIY type of guy), type 4s are not voodoo or magic as some would have you believe. Between Tom Wilsons book on rebuilding AC VWs, a Haynes 914 manual and the articles in VW trends, you should be able to do it. If you need more help, get the "BugMe" type 4 overhaul video, it's expensive but I hear it is very good.

Talk to Jake. He has a forum here. He seems like a good guy, strait shooter, and has state of the art equipment.

Jake, sorry I neglected to mention you in my post. I was thinking of parts suppliers, not engine builders.....
