Fuel Cells

I was wondering about replacing the stock fuel tank with a fuel cell.

what are the advantages & disadvantages?
who makes them for VWs?

I don't believe anyone makes a VW specific cell. I was going to add one in my super. ATL makes a size that will fit with minor mods. The only concern really was the depth. I measured it out and I believe it would've hit the backside of the dash, but you can make it work. I believe it was a sports cell, 12 gallon. Their site has the dimensions. Bladder with steel body internal surge tank (I am fuel injected), and internal EFI pump, was around 8 bills. One to custom fit in a bug is more $$$$. I modified my stock tank for $10 to work with my EFI. Cell wasn't worth it to me, I'm not racing.
