What to do about suspension settings?

From information gleaned from a tech site on VW suspension mods to improve handling. A recomendation was made to have the front one inch higher than the rear ride height. That I believe would exacerbate the problem these ACVW's have of creating too much lift in the front compared to the rear. I see problems of hydroplaning at highway speeds increasing along with floaty feelings from the big 'wing' that these cars will create.

My Ghia doesn't lend itself well to front air dams which would help alleviate the problem to a certain extent. You Beetle guys do have a decided advantage in this respect.

So...what's the deal? Do these vehicles really handle better with the front higher than the rear? How are the Porsche 356 cars (which have similar suspensions up front ) "handling" the situation?

Thanks in advance.
