The 19in Myth?

Hello

I know this question has been asked a million times, but hey this is the Wheel and Tire forum so hopefully I can get a good answer, unless everybody is in a bum mood, but hopefully not!
Some people have been talking about that you can fit 19 inch wheels on beetles. If so, can the poor thing still make a U-turn in one easy pass; what size was the with of the wheel; did they do any modification to the front beam or fender? And whats the secrete word of today Pee-Wee...Offset! What would be better, getting the offset closet to the stock vw wheel offset or going towards the porsche 50mm? Hopefully somebody knows!
