It is quite easy to fix those lines for good. I usually give them a good yank when servicing it will come out if at all loose. I then sand it slightli and tin it with ordinary solder. I shake it while hot to live the thinnest smear of solder. I tap it back in and have never had one of those come out

Thanks for the encouragement everyone, I'll be giving Lant a call this morning to see how they want to handle this.
Greg, I didn't have your number programmed in to my phone, otherwise I certainly would have given you a call while I was down there. cheers Ed N. |

If you have the room to install a system, these are nice and give you some peace of mind.
![]() We put one of these systems in the Herbie X. I will have one in my car but haven't had much time to get it done. I put a hand held fire extinguisher in all my vehicles and every one that leaves our shop. You just never know when you will need one. I think the system cost @ $350.

Ed I don't know if your car had this going on, but here goes ...
Public service announcement time: Never put a filter on the pressure side of the fuel pump, avoid putting it in the engine bay at all. Under the fuel tank or above the transaxle are ok. - cheap filters can crack or even burst under pressure especially if the engine is running hot, the engine bay area will get warm - filters can get heavy (filled with fuel) and wiggle the fitting on the carb loose ... fuel filter rant over

Yes, I have seen that mentioned Bryan, I guess I should have dealt with it right away. Too anxious to get out cruising in the new toy.
Insurance appraiser is coming by Tuesday afternoon, we'll take it from there. cheers Ed N. |
